Transpacific Financial Inc. was founded by Philip Hu in 1994 with the goal of offering wholesale life insurance and financial planning services to the public. We are based in Southern California and our focus is the Asian market. We are one of the few Asian members affiliated with the IDA. We are an approved wholesaler for Wells Fargo, Bank of the West, Cathay Bank, and ICBC (US branches).

Every member of our staff can speak at least two different languages. Our staff includes speakers of Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese and English. We can provide intensive Life Insurance support for your Asian clients whose preferred language is not English.

In 2006 we became the largest Asian general agency in Southern California. Soon after, we became the largest Asian general agency in the United States. Nowadays, we have over 4000 contracted- or part-time professional agents on staff, many of whom have nearly two decades of experience within the industry.


Transpacific Financial boasts a high agent retention rate, and we believe our agents stay with us because of the strong agent support and effective training classes we provide. We offer bi-weekly training classes at our various locations. Additionally, we broadcast and record the training sessions so that agents can request access even from remote locations. Our new business and sales support teams are experienced, friendly, and always available to provide the support our agents need.
We are very experienced in working with the foreign national market. We provide strong training in this area to equip our agents with the most up-to-date and effective tools to succeed in their interactions with foreign national clients.
In order for us to grow, we have to focus on a market in which we are sure to be successful. Therefore, we invest the most time and energy in the Asian market. Ninety-five percent of our staff can speak Chinese, and some can even speak multiple dialects in addition to other Asian languages.
As technology improves and changes, we try to keep up with the latest developments in I.T. to help maximize the efficiency of our support teams and expedite the underwriting process for our agents. We provide a variety of digital tools for our agents both online and at our many office locations.
